Before we start...

I'd just like to wish a dear friend of mine, O., a happy birthday. This review is sort of a gift from me to him. Again, happy birthday, my friend, I hope this special is filled with joy for you, even if your mood isn't the greatest. :)

FINAL THOUGHTS:

Transformers: Animated, to me, is one of the best Transformers shows to be made to date, rivaled only by the likes of Prime (that's not to say I don't enjoy some of the other Transformers shows, like Rescue BotsEarthSpark or Cyberverse, quite the opposite!). Okay, let's get down to actually explaining what makes this show so good.

Surorisingly enough, what makes Animated work so much is... the way the show is written. There's a lot of good stuff to be found in terms of both story and characters. Each episode is filled with lots of suspense, action and clever humour, as well as some references for long-term Transformers fans. You can also find a lot of fresh and interesting ideas for a cartoon about these giant robots, too.

The characters are also a huge area where the show shines very bright. Not only do we get arguably one of the best human characters in the franchise, Sari, but the "veterans" also have some interesting problems and traits, as well. One amazing thing is that we essentially get to see a younger, more flawed Optimus Prime (he's even got a very recognisable laughter in the series!). The voice actors are also at the top of their game here, too.

However, with all that being said, one weak aspect of the series is, oddly for its name, the way it's drawn and animated. A lot of the designs just felt a little strange to me (I mean, seriously, what's up with all the chins of some bots?!). There are also places where the animation can feel jumpy and limited, but I'd argue this has its own charm, in a way.

In conclusion, you should definitely give this show a shot. The little ones will probably end up enjoying it, too. :)

BEFORE WE SAY GOODBYE...

Thanks for taking tine to read this review. I'm glad I finally got to write this post, which I was wanting to do for quite a while. Once again, happy birthday to O and see you all in June.

Kisses,

           your Diva 💋

  1. Oh, and when it comes to reviewing other Transformers shows, I'm NOT going to promise this, but mini-reviews od some other shows in the franchise, like "Prime" and "Robots In Disguise" (2015) may be coming later down the line.
