Hello, kids!

I hope you had a nice summer. Here's a review of the 2012 Littlest Pet Shop TV series. Now, without further ado, enjoy! ☺️

Final thoughts

The series follows a young girl named Blythe Baxter, endowed with the talent to understand animals. After moving out from her hometown due to her aeroplane pilot dad's promotion, she encounters a pet shop where she soon makes new animal friends and has numerous slice-of-life adventures with them.

The series boasts a really good artstyle and animation. Created by the same studio behind shows like My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic and the 2010 Pound Puppies, the character designs are true to the original toys and can attract young viewers with a palette of vibrant, but not harsh colours. Both human and pet designs are adorable, making it clear the creators poured a lot of care and effort into them. The animation is also smooth and fluid. 

The music is another strong suit of the show, with many memorable musical numbers performed by the characters, such as Humanarian, Dino Pets and All Around the World, each with their own unique vibe and rhythm.

The writing is also quite solid for the most part. Most of the cast, from the protagonist, Blythe, to the pets, to even the guest characters, are likable and have their own unique personalities and talents. If I were to find one minor negative, there are a couple cheesy jokes here and there, but that's completely forgivable. We get some emotional moments and arcs, adding to the memorablity and enjoyment. 

Overall, I highly recommend this series to kids and  viewers of all ages, but especially young girls wanting a show that's appealing to them. If you're a fan of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic and Equestria Girls, chances are, you'll love it, too! But of course, I encourage you to watch the series yourself and form your own thoughts. Who knows, maybe one day, I'll review Littlest Pet Shop: A World of Our Own, too? ;-) (NO promises made, just yet.)
